Has anyone used these reproduction bumpers from AMD. If so, can you comment on the quality, fit, finish, etc. Photos would help also.

Thanks, Dan

How does the finish compare to the plating on an original NOS bumper?

An original NOS bumper plating is better.

While my rechromed original bumper was tweeked & never fit right, the AMD bumper fit nicely but the actual chroming job cant compare to even my 10+ year old Bumper Boyz rechrome....

No problems with my AMD, I'm quite happy with it.

Got both front and rear on my '68 GTX. They look good, but NOT as good as rechromed originals.
Basically a great looking cost effective solution to some of the "chroming bandits" up in my neck of the woods that I tried to deal with regarding my original ones.

Was not happy with the ones I got for my charger. Don't know if they retooled them or not. Got them in 08.

I got one from Stephens Performance at Carlisle 2 years ago for a challenger rear and it was bowed up toward the mid and the chrome was wavey from any angle. They actually told me that they were good enough for most everyone else and that they had sold lots of them with no complaints from anyone ???? The one I got was the suposed to be the re-tooled/corrected one. Im sure AMD does make some quality stuff but there chrome bumpers seem to be hit or miss. I have a NOS front bumper on my Charger and the quality of the chrome is way above the bumper I got from AMD. I wish they would just sell the cores un-chromed or have them chromed in the states by a quality company.

That seems to be the case with their bumpers, if you have the opertunity to hand pick a bumper of choice from one of their vendors in person, rather than get the "straw draw" by random delivery from ordered stock, you stand a better chance....

I used one of AMD's Charger rear bumpers (2004) the fit was excellent, and while it wasn't triple chrome show finish, it was better than original, it's been on the car for 7+ years now, no issues with the finish...

Dan if your looking at AMD E body bumpers, those are a real crapshoot regarding fit/finish, you'd be better off with Keystones E body bumpers

Mike,

Actually, I am considering bumpers for a 70 Dart. My E Body bumpers were rechromed years ago, and are waiting for the cars to be completed.

I tried 2 fronts for my 68 GTX. Both rubbed my new paint on the RH side and stuck out a couple inches on the left, being centered perfectly on the car. Rechromed original fits perfect!

Who carries the E-body Keystones? Be nice if it was Year-1 with it being a 30% off weekend!

I purchased an AMD 72 Cuda front bumper and overall it's not a bad unit but it does pale in comparison to the original rear unit I had rechromed

There was a small indent that appears to have been there prior to chrome https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6828568-DSCF0606.JPG

an original 1972 Cuda front bumper, note the contours of the lower edge and lack of holes: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6830883-72frontbumper.jpg

Here is a side by side showing the difference in contour and the holes in the AMD units lower edge (the OEM is on the bottom and is a 73) Notice the lack of chrome around the holes. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6828549-DSCF0605.JPG

The area by the license plate was less prepped https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6828540-DSCF0603.JPG

OEM unit had a fish hook shape at the lower curves, AMD did not. Note the rough edge too https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6828550-DSCF0604.JPG

YO did carry Keystones, I don't know if they have switched vendors?, but YO has no problem telling you who the vendor of any item is that they are currently being supplied by, should you decide to order them, but you need to call, no emails

Last I recall no discounts on bumpers
