Just curious if anyone can tell me what these markings represent?? All are in a 67 RT.

The first one appears to say "6x" and is on the drivers side wheel hump beside the rear seat.

The second one is behind the rear seat back right at the top near the package tray. It says "16-22"

It looks like 11-16-22 to me. I've seen pictures of markings like that before. I don't know if anyone ever figured them out though.

you don't create the link, you 'copy' and 'paste' it into your post.

There was a post on that, it was thought that they were vat codes for paint (at least the one behind the rear seat)....if I remember correctly.

sure that's not 16-16 22? (see the link to the previous thread).

They seem to be marked prior to paint, so logically it might be a painting sequence or color info. The "6X" might relate to a black interior (X), and maybe 6 is the seat code, like buckets/bench or trim level.

I think 6bblgt's explanation in the link makes the most sense, it's like broadcast sheet or fender tag info written on a place where the painters can read it

The attached are numbers I observed on a car that I inspected last week. It was a 1969 Coronet R/T, rag top, auto, black interior and yellow exterior. My theory on the numbers based on my final vehicle assembly production experience leads me to believe that part of the code is related to line position for painting. Vehicles were batched outside of the paint line and efforts were made to batch run like cars and colors as much as possible.
