I've been looking over da' web at road test results for the 2011-2012 5.7 & 6.4 Challengers (street versions, NOT Drag Pak cars) and wondering how quick people are running at the track with those two different V8 options. Do these cars run faster with autos or manual trans? Do they have any weak links in the factory powertrain when subjected to drag use?

stock 5.7 R/T auto might see 13.7 stick a little better. 6.4 I've seen all over the map from low 13's to 14. Guess it depends on the driver.

I took my 2010 5.7 Auto Challenger R/T Classic out to Orlando Speed World 2 weeks ago for the first time and ran the following:

1st Pass
60 2.040
330 5.801
1/8 ET 8.879
1/8 MPH 79.50
1000 11.534
1/4 ET 13.752
1/4 MPH 101.39

2nd Pass
60 2.022
330 5.767
1/8 ET 8.836
1/8 MPH 79.67
1000 11.485
1/4 ET 13.701
1/4 MPH 101.30

The car has 7500 miles and is stock (except for the gas hood struts).
I'm happy with it and it drives great!

Not up to date on the ETs but the weak links are the same through all years.

rear 1/2 shafts being the first that comes to mind.

Realistically, I have seen people online running 12.80-13.00 with stock 6.4 challengers. Once broken in, they seem to go better. The white inaugural edition 392 challenger auto in this video "IS" stock and broken in. 12.40's , they are no slouches.

My buddy has a chipped/exh 06 srt mag,,, and ran it all season, 13.40s...
The weird thing is , the mph is up and down by lots 102/103-107/108

I still like carbs and orange boxes.

I went 13.33 at 105 8.60s in the 1/8 stock. This is a 2010 SRT Challenger 6.1 auto with Goodyear supercar tires (not a drag radial)

After I installed the procharger I took it and went 8.0 in the 1/8 but had to leave the traction controll on. The tires are never going to hook it now LOL

It put down 470ish HP to the wheels with the procharger.
Mine has 9000 miles now and I love driving it. I pick the kids up from school in it and they just get a kick out of it.
