Hi!

I am about to build the street HEMI for my original 1969 HEMI Charger and I was thinking about using some NOS steel shim head gaskets (NOS mopar) instead of the regular Fel Pro Gaskets to achieve some more compression.

Are these gaskets OK to use?

Any feedback on using them or against using them?

Also, whats the compressed thickness of these gaskets?

Thanks

Domingo

Use them, .021 thick, they're good gaskets. Dave

aslong as you dont make too much power,, they are fine,, id say no issues to 800hp

the rocker gear tries to come off the head on a hami so you loose clamping load on the center 5 head bolts that go through the stands,, this will allow the head gaskets to blow if you make 800+hp,, there are ways to fix it,, but for you,,,, you should be fine

Thanks for the reply Jeff!!!

Yes, this is just a street build for my stock 69 HEMI Charger.

Its just been stroked to 477" and its getting a cam upgrade...other than that....its pretty much stock.

Im hoping for 550-600hp.
