The sidewall says 30 lbs. MAX. These are the 4-ply,NOT the 8-ply for heavier cars. My GTX weighs 3500 lbs..3730 with me in it. What's the consensus on pumping them up a bit for the track? I have been setting them at 30 for the street...35 at the track. Would 40-45 be un-wise,i.e. dangerous? Thanks in advance! Randy B.

My 4 ply 26's were always above 40, usually 45+ Never an issue. I can tell you the car drive 100 times better with a radial on the front though.

Bob..with a "heavy" car,you think 50 lbs. is safe? There's a warning on the side wall that says "tire could explode if inflated OVER 40 lbs"!!! Using bias-ply slicks...probably a good idea to stick with BIAS front tires!..MUCH MORE stable on the top end! Ask me how I know!

Bird..my STABLE comment was directed toward Dustin, who suggested running radials on the front! Not a good idea when running bias-ply slicks on the back! ...been there, done that! I'll try 50 lbs. in the Mickey's tomorrow at the track! 171mph??? ...
