Allright ya'll we're a week away from the 10th Aniversary ECDTHOF weekend, who's coming. Besides the usual suspects Hemifred, Reed from Neb, Chris3 anybody else making the trip to Henderson ?? All kiding aside guys if you are within driving distance of Henderson NC next weekend it is WELL worth the drive to get to henderson to see this awsesome event. Nancy Wilson has worked miracles to assemble some of dragracing finest into one weekend, take it from someone who was not even born when most of the guys were racing, i have never approached a racer there that was not willing to stand and tell stories for hours. i have heard all sorts of tales from the road some hilirous and some you just can't type for public reading. So again i highly encourage you guys to make the trip down.

ps if your coming Stewart bring your winter coat it's already in the 40's here @ night

All right yall it's Wednesday before who's getting ready to head out ?? I know that HemiFred is coming in tommorrow, "Akron" Arlene Vanke is flying in tommorrow afternoon as well, how bout' you Reed ?? Stewart?? Remember everyone that we are going to Roxboro Friday after the bar-b-q for some good old fashion southern style Nostalgia drag racing. No idea who's coming but you can be assured with old drag racers it won't take to many conversations before we'll be on the line settling some old grudges and reliving memories..

Chris, and all that made last years event so special for me. Because of ongoing health issues I will not be there. But as I say that - the Mopar People that I know will be there in force. RamChargers, Missile crew - Hoover, Spehar, Ghost, Pappas, Oldfield - Arlen Vanke, Herb McCandless - Donnie Carlton, Jr.- and others - A once in your lifetime to meet and talk with true Legends in our sport. Don’t miss it. And to top it off - The People of Henderson, from Main Street to All the Hotels, are some of the nicest, most accommodating people you will ever meet. And What can I say about Ms.Nancy Wilson - She is a Gift to Henderson and Vance County Tourism. — All enjoy, and please say “Hi” to everyone for ME.

Hemi Fred, everyone knows you will be there. You have been part of of the Henderson event for ever. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday. Sorry we could not get the "Southern Swing" together this year, but after Z-Max had to cancel it was too late to schedule something new for Tuesday. I think we will have a good time on Friday night at Roxboro Dragway. Be safe on the way here. I am picking Vanke up at the airport this afternoon and taking him to Henderson. Oh! there we go another Mopar at Henderson.

Let me try to explain what happens.

Friday at Satterwhite Point Park there is a cook-out with Bar-B-Que, lots of old race cars, some classic show cars and lots of "old racers." Friday night there are receptions set up at all of the host motels for some serious bench racing, including snacks. This year some of the "old racers" and old race cars are going to Roxboro Motorsports Park, formerly Person County Dragway, for some old time drag racing and some more bench racing.

Saturday morning the car show begins in downtown Henderson, NC. There will be city blocks full of classic cars, somewhere between 1500 and 2000, of all manufacturers up to 1976. There will be city blocks of classic drag race cars, some restored and some unrestored, and lots of "old racers" and more bench racing. Yes!! we fire-up these old cars and the nitro cars get a little smell in the air and help moisten your eyes a little.

Sunday is the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which includes more old drag race cars on display, "old drag racers" and more bench racers. We have lunch provided after the induction ceremony. Prior to the induction ceremony, there is a big room where the racers, racer's families and friends bring their old scrap books for everyone to look at.

For everyone who is interested, when you pass the NC39 exit on I-85 look at our new sign for the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame Museum. Yes we now have land and working to get money to build the building on the site.

It is Sunday night and the 10th East Coast Drag Time Hall of Fame Reunion is now complete. This was a super show and Mopar was in full force in downtown Henderson, NC. To everyone who went and I got to talk too I hope you enjoyed your trip back into drag race history, from the "all" of the RAMCHARGERS to the late Herman Lewis' AMX sitting in its prime spot. To everyone who requested that I sign your T-shirts and autograph posters, I sincerely thank-you. Having my name signed along beside of Joe Pappas, members of RAMCHARGERS,Bob Banning, and all the rest really makes the week-end.

We had fun racing on Friday night, the new motor ran super, by the way HEMIPARTS where did those reaction times come from?

The Saturday show was a big hit, sorry you had to miss it Stewart hope you are able to return next year. A giant crowd was at the RAMCHARGERS autograph table all day with the HIGH and Mighty on one side and what had to one of the sharpest cars at the show the infamous MOPAR MISSLE on the other. Arlan Vanke and his shape looking Duster made for MOPAR photo opportunities all day long. The stories that were told on that street for 12 hours on Saturday will be unfortunately lost one day when the people who lived them are no longer living. There were thousands of classic cars and trucks lining the streets and parking lots of downtown Henderson, In the drag racing section were funny cars, front engine dragsters, gassers, altereds, FX, stockers and superstockers who made drag racing history.

Sunday's Hall of Fame induction ceremony was beyond description as always from the two cars on display on either side of the stage,The Virginian, raced by the late Pee Wee Wallace and the AMX raced by the late Herman Lewis both who passed away since the last reunion, to all of the stories shared during the presentation of the awards. Mr. Bret Kepner is an unbelievable walking file cabinet of drag racing history and presents it with super class. If I missed seeing you I am sorry and hope to see you at the next event.
