Jim you are one of the few guys left on this board that I respect and admire. Congrats and good luck at VMP. However it ends enjoy the experience. These are the kind of races old timers love to relive when bench racing years later. Jim

Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts.

Today (Sat) started the team bracket finals after finishing the Friday gamblers race. They ran round 1 of all three classes (Top, Mod, jr dragster). And I won my round, so I will be racing round 2 on Sunday for team MIR (Maryland International Raceway).

The weather was much better today, it was 63F and 26% RH. So I took the 45 lbs out of the trunk, but left the ignition timing set back 2 degrees from Friday (31 total now). My car went 5.853 on a 5.86 dial-in during a double break-out with the other racer taking the stripe by 0.0006, but he ran under by more than I did (I had a better RT).

With 6 cars left, I was paired against Rocky Pintavalle from Richmond Dragway in his Duster and we both dialed 5.94 in a heads up match.

You and Rocky in any race had to be awsome, probly the best two Mopar footbrakers between Md. and Va.! (I will through in Chris Moran and Seth Phillips) Great job Jim, Now take it home!

Yes, lots of great footbrakers around here. Chris and Seth have done great things at some bigger races this year (and I lost to both of them in some rounds this year), and add the non-Mopar guys like Ed Talbert and it takes some luck to get by them kind of racers. I believe all those guys have won more money than me this year. I am just happy to have a little glory and a chance at the SSS title and a few grand here or there...

(I have to live my racing life vicariously through Jim since I don't get a chance to do it myself any more. )
