Found out last night that my trac-loc in the dana is toast and I'm a 1 wheel peeler. 11K mostly highway miles.

I believe they're rebuildable but I can't find any procedures. I saw some clutch paks on some jeep / 4 wheeler sites tho. Anybody rebuild one?

It's that or pony up $500 plus for a True Trac.

Get with DrDiff. He has either the parts you need or a brand new POWR-LOK which is much stouter than a TRAC-LOK.

Take a peek inside and see if the gears are split.
My guess is yes if you are calling it a trak ie crack lok.

The new gears run just under 200 but will give you full engagement of the axle shafts. Clutch packs are
available everywhere but get them from doc diff.

Easy to change.

I have an extra if you are interested PM me.

Thanks for the info. I'll pop the cover this afternoon.

Sidegear problem sounds likely. I notice Yukon carries some upgraded gears but if I have to put any serious $ into this I'd rather chuck it for the true trac if possible.

The guy that built my rear didn't give me any options for a powr-lok and didn't recommend a detroit locker. I settled for the trac-lok after telling him I really didn't think that the spool he recommended would be right for me. This goes back about 5 years ago now.

Frankly I wish I'd have dealt with Dr. Diff the whole time. Have gotten stuff from him in the past and probably will again.
