I have had this 69 Roadrunner since 2001.I have moved it,towed it,stored it and the whole time resisted the urge to take it apart fearing I may need to move it again.Well, I have finally decided it is time to get started.I did some disassembly today and thought I would post some pics. It needs a left front framerail which I picked up at carlisle, and some other sheetmetal but I am going to try to get moving.First pic is this morning...

the cowl is kind of iffy because of rust on the fins, not sure what to do about that. Maybe an AMD replacement in my future

my plan for next time is to get the engine and trans out so I can start removing the rusty left front frame rail.Right side looks real nice so ther must have been a battery explosion/leak sometime.Either way it needs replacement.Floor pans are excellent and I have replaced the trunk floor several years ago,but thinking about some cutting out back anyway. So this is my start up and I hope to move along on this since I have an expert sheetmetal guy helping on this,my good friend Tom Albanese.

Cool car what is/was it as far as drive train, options, colors etc and what are your plans? The blown engine looks sweet

The car is wearing its original R4 red paint, and its a 383 auto on the column air grabber hood car.Numbers engine long gone and the original hood was rusty when I bought the car.I am thinking of mini-tubbing possibly and a Dana with 3.73 or 4,10 gears. Since I've never had a blower motor before I may just get the bodywork completed and leave it in primer while I work on the tuning and getting the bugs out then maybe some candy paint?Dunno ,I am a LONG way from that now I guess.

So I am still saying you should go with this suggestion. It would be pretty cool just to have a rough and mean street car.

Darn, sorry you sold the Roadrunner, I'm working on one too. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait on the Dart. Maybe we'll see in Dinwiddie.

So does that mean you still have the 75lb piece of polished aluminum??

When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..
