For the money, Go get a stock late 90's Truck starter, or buy one from Mopar Performance. The 2 are the same. I have used these on motors ranging from 350HP to 1000HP. Also up to 15:1 compression ratio. U will need to clearance starter a little to avoid contact with block, but I think they are a better unit than any aftermerket high dollar piece.

MOPAR MINI no shims,etc etc works awesome and cheap

The one that I use now is from a '90 Dakota. Maybe it's just plain worn out. It's a pain in the butt to change mine. I don't want to do all of that work for the same result. Quote:

Yes they are. The one tube comes within a little less than a 1/4" of the starter. You may be on to something. I had thought that around 1/4" would be enough clearance.
