I did it head on the engine... used about a
8" length of tig rod... was easy...good luck
the reason I wouldnt go with the sand paper... its
already too small... sand paper takes material off...
you need to go larger... this is a cheap mans knurling

OK thanks guys. I'll see what I find when I get the spring off. I'm not going to take it apart until I have all the stuff to put my new rockers on as it's running right now so I can move it around. Thankts to Competition Wedge I should have everything next week to get it done.

I'll keep that in mind roadhazard my head porter gave me some extra seals but I'll see when I get it apart. I'm sure I'll be contacting you in the future as I have an M1 TR and W5 heads so gaskets will be needed eventually. I have some spares but not many left.
