Not all the way there yet.I use anti seize on the damper hub also.

Did you check the clearances? Alot of dampers, if not most, need honed to fit.

Once you hone it a little I just use a grade 8 bolt
with 3 good washers and pull it on with my impact
wrench (use a couple different bolt lengths if needed
so you have at least the bolt diameter into the crank
and dont bottom out)

If it was on another engine MORE THAN LIKELY it will
fit yours... pull it on with a impact and a grade 8 bolt
and a few good washers

Maybe they sold it cause they could never get it on all the way. Hone it and use a good balancer pusher to install. And use anti seize as already mentioned.

Is that metal shavings or rust dust in your first picture? You might should pull it back off, clean it up to inspect it. If you keep trying to install it further, you may get thread damage if you already haven't yet.

It's not on all the way in my opinion , and like already stated it probably needs honed . Mine needed honed also. I made my own install tool and I don't use the crank threads to pull it on.

thats not even close to being on, there should about 1/8 in. between the cover and the damper.pull, it back off and see if your pushing a ridge into it,if you are it needs to be honed.

Bingo...........mike the crank snout and the id of the dampner and go from there. Mine was about a .002 press fit iirc.

Mine won't fit cold. I heat it up 250 degrees or a little more and it slides right on. I also use a little anti-seize.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

And how much "grunt" on the puller do you have to use ...to pull it off?
