Tragic and truly horrible news....

Like so many of you I only knew Gary from the board, which though I don't post hugely I've been on pretty much since it started. Gary's posts are like a part of the Moparts furniture, he was a likeable and very respected guy.

I was pretty shocked to see his name when I opened this thread. Prayers for his family. I hope they will be able to see from this thread the respect and love there is for him - literally worldwide.

Clearly he made a difference.

This is truly tragic news. My sympathy goes out to his wife, family, co-workers and fellow Moparts members.

I only met Gary twice. But he was more than happy to stop and talk to a member he never met.

He will be missed.

I too only knew him from Moparts, but as many have already stated, it hurts. I'm sitting here with a huge lump in my throat and that funny burning feeling in my chest trying not to break down. Some months ago I posted about a Moparts members get together at some track somewhere for the purpose of meeting a bunch of you, as I was still kinda new at the time. Gary, "Un", was one of those I truly was wanting to meet. We swapped some PM's over the months, and got to know him that way. Heck of a nice guy with a great sense of humor. I too will miss his presence here. God bless his family & friends, and his family & friends here.

Rich called me around 2 and told me about this....

I'm still shocked. I've been to two of the infamous barbeques, Gary was always very willing to help, fun to shoot the s**t with, and an incredibly nice guy. He came to my house awhile back to verify the VIN # on my Charger so I could get a title for it here in Michigan. Rode in my 300, too. Always enjoyed running into him at swap meets, car shows and cruise nights.

I don't quite know what else to say...

I'm still at a loss of words, Moparts has never had such sad day nor have I since my life long friend died while on his vacation a few years back. When Mark (my friend) passed I couldn't understand why and still don't to this day, I'll never understand why God had to call Gary home either but somethings are not meant to be understood I guess.

It's obvious that Gary has touched many hearts in his short life including mine, life is not judged by wealth, only by respect and the number of friends you leave behind, Gary was truly a rich man.

Not many people can reach out into cyber space and give it depth, Gary did and we owe it to him to try and be better people in our own life's, it's the only good that come from this tragedy.

So long, Beavis........

I can hear Gary saying those words now. That's how we always ended our phone conversations.......
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nicki and to Gary's dad.

Oh my God, what terrible news. I've had the pleasure of meeting Gary and talking to him at several of the mopar events. A more down to earth, nice guy you will not find.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this heartbreaking time.

Rest in peace and God Bless Gary.

I just got home from work. After driving all day in the rain, and seeing wrecks all over the place, I couldn't wait to get home and check in on the board.

This is the thread I see. Say it aint so, how could this be! I like many here never met him in person, but I admired the heck out of him for his posts, and friendly nature towards everyone. He was the cop buddy that could always give good advice. His posts had instant credibility. And even in the most heated discussions he was a class act.

Godspeed Gary.

For those of us that live so far away, that cant be there for services, where can we send assistance to his family? Flowers, money, anything they need just let us know.

WOW! I cant believe this!
I just got home from a long day at work and of course first thing is to see what was going on at Moparts. The first thing I noticed was the "sticky" and "locked" on the "Uh oh.. I did it again. New Ink.." post. I though it was strange because:
a) posts do not typically get locked unless they turn inappropriate and
b) While amuzing, I did not realize why a tatoo post was so significant.
Then I noticed a post about contributing money to Gary (Unlawful) and it still had not sunk in. The first thing I thought that something happened to his beautiful car. I was looking forward to finally seeing it in person. With so many members loosing close friends and family members I did not know what to expect when clicking on "We lost a friend and member today." This was the last thing I could have ever thought of. I am still in shock. As I read post after post of touching and heartfeld messages, the reality of the situation finally started to sink in. It is strange how although many of us have never met face to face there is a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship. The pain and feeling of loss is simultaneously being felt by people around the world for a man many of us would never have even known if it had not been for Moparts and this common interest in Mopars.
Although I never met Gary in person, I was looking forward to a time when my Satellite would be finished when I could drive it to a Moparty to meet Gary in person. While everyone does not agree with all of the moderators actions sometimes, I am sure everyone will agree that Unlawful will be greatly missed. Words simply can not the provide the comfort needed at this time of sorrow. I dont think the full impact will be realized until the upcomming weeks, months, and years when I will no longer see posts from the man, the myth, and the legend... - Unlawful.

I am deeply sorry for the loss. I as well as so many others feel like I knew him very well, yet I only talked to him through this board.

I am so shocked right now.

Still hard to believe that Gary is gone. As sad as it is, it is uplifting to see how so many people were touched by one man so many miles apart. Please read the thread about Garys funeral arrangements- it would be great if 100 Mopars (or more) could show up for the procession. I am sure Gary will be smiling at the sight of all those Mopars.
Godspeed, Gary.
