What is the best way to determine if a '73 Valiant is all original?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Check VIN on engine, transmission, and everywhere the VIN is supposed to be on the body. Decode VIN plate and decode fender tag.

If ALL original, carb should have the proper aluminum tag, not to mention proper air cleaner. Carb base should be dated correctly. Same for alternator, distributor, starter, and fuel pump.

Alternator should not have been sandblasted by a rebuilder. Original hoses with original markings, original hose clamps, and original pentastar belts with part numbers should be there. If A/C, should have original accumulator-drier.

Look for aftermarket radio, radiator cap.

Wheels are date coded near the valve stems. Glass should have proper logos and dates.

Depending on how much is ALL, there is the battery, fuel filter, air filter, tires, spare tire, muffler, and brake shoes/pads.
