I built this motor myself. I spent about 6k to 7k getting the proper checking tools, sunnen dial bore guages, valve grinder, etc, etc. I did all the clearence checking etc. I did have some help from the people I mentioned if I wasn't clear on something. Ted @ Opel, Rob @ LRT chassis. Rob built the car and helped me a lot along with asking Ted a number of questions.

This is the 2nd version of the motor. I went through it and changed a few things on this version.

I am ordering 8 A/F ration sensors and will be getting the headers ready. I have two now which are in the collectors.

I feel there is another tenth or better. I am looking for a 1.17 60ft time and I will get there.

Kind of funny when you think about it I am using carbs, manifold, and rods that I should of got rid of. I wouldn't sell those carbs if someone offered me 5k. They work all the time every time.

Oh by the way I should scan the time slip if anyone doubts.

Now that’s impressive!!! 8.70’s at 496” and 3200#!

And in another thread there are members that think going 8.50’s in a 2800# car with any displacement is like building a perpetual motion machine. I have to say as a Mopar fan I get rather discouraged going to different tracks seeing yet another Mopar barely breaking the 9’s with 572” plus engines!

Good job!

The intake is a custom piece done by my friend Adam.

The transmission is a 3 speed 727 pro trans.
