I wanted to use POR-15 engine enamel, but the only Red that they have available is Ford Thunderbird Red. I then saw another brand that said Chrysler-Ford Red as well, so I am now wondering if it is the same.

I want to use Bill Hirsch but I don't have 2 weeks to wait for the paint to cure. I already used one of the auto part store brands and its almost transparent in places......

Ok, maybe I should post this over in question-answer.

i'm pretty sure the red you're looking for is the same as the 68 small block red. Bill Hirsch's red was not even close. I bought Chrysler red right at a parts store. But it's been awhile I don't remember the brand.

Thanks for the input!

I will keep shopping. I was hoping for a nice brush on paint since my spray paint experience was not the greatest.

I think I used Duplicolor? but it may have been rustoleum...... I guess as long as it is all one color red, it won't matter if it is dead on. I am not going for a concourse resto on my 68 D100, but I want it to look nice.
