Who is the baddest of the bad? What boost numbers are you reaching? How high of boost with the stock coils? 5.7, 6.1, or 6.4?

We've run 24 lbs of boost with stock coils.

Sounds great. At what rpm did you reach? Is this at Ma Mopar? Thanks.

Post some specs. Turbo or supercharged what size, how much power. I've wondered what these motors can handle power wise, or how much a stock bottem end can take.

Yep, it was in the Direct Connection Test Car. RPM was kept under 7000. If I remember right the shift light was set in the mid 6000s, but I was not driving it at the time.

It was 440ci, aluminum block, all aftermarket forged bottom end, apache heads, 6.1 intake mounted backwards, custom grind cam, 88mm Turbonetics, ice water intercooled, and so on.

To be honest we did not intend to run boost levels quite that high at first, the tuneup was not ready for it, and we did saw the plugs off at that point. Hopefully we can get back to work on it, reduce the boost a bit and sneak up on it...rather than hitting it that hard right out of the gate again.

Mines a 392 cubed based off a 6.1 block. Offset ground the factory 6.1 crankshaft from the 3.58" stroke to a 3.795". Eagle Featherweight SB Chevy rods with Honda rod journals and .927" pin. Scary going from a 2.125" rod journal to a 1.88" with rods only rated to 500 hp, but after 400 passes the crank and rods are fine and going back in. Ross forged dished pistons, Ferrea extreme duty intake 2.08" int valves and inconal 1.62" exh valves. Hand ported and custom closed chamber 2005, 5.7 heads milled .021", .052" quench, 8.6:1 compression. Milled the heads for this build another .004" and brought the compression up to 9.1:1. 2005 5.7 coil packs still using the waste spark system, but bought 6.1 valve covers and will switch over to the 6.1 coil packs without the waste spark system. Paxton overdriven 1500 blower putting out 18 psi. 3800 stall, smallish cam, 216/220 @ .050" with a 114 LSA + 4. The new cam going in is a 219/225 @ .050" with a 114 LSA + 4. Still need the lowend tq to get my heavy azz 5184 lb 4x4 Hemi Ram out of the hole and let the blower do the rest. Best time to date with the old setup is a 1.48 60', 6.87 @ 98.xx mph in the 1/8 and 11.03 @ 118.xx in the 1/4.

As you can see, my 1/8 mi to 1/4 times are way off base. I'm thinking my stock coil packs where giving up the ghost as we have seen in the dyno room. I was hoping to try out Rich's new 6.1 coil packs the next time I go to the track to see if my truck will run the high ten #'s as it should.

BTW. I'm not a firm believer in Dynojet #'s. Heck its all over with in but a few seconds. I trust an engine dyno the most and then put it on a Mustang dyno for real world results as far as drive train loss. Better yet, hp to weight ratio with an E.T. slip.

Rich is on to a great product for all.

If someone had a target of 800hp /turbocharged with a 6.1 as the base what would be the areas that need attention first? I'm thinking pistons, rods, but beyond that not sure the next items to add to the list. Any advice would be helpful.

Piston rings, fuel, spark and crankcase evacuation under boost.

Fuel system is good,Spark,I own a Fast EFI system ,so I'm thinking the XIM should handle the ignition side with the factory coils? I doubt it will take over 15lbs to get where I want to go. Do you have any rod/piston favorites for this application? I'll give you a call soon. Thanks
