I'm trying to get my wiper linkage put back together and am having some trouble with attaching the passenger side wiper arm/bushing. This is the part under the dash (73 A-body), and thus far it has been a pain.

Do you put the bushing into the hole in the arm, then press the "ball" into that or do you put the bushing on the pivot ball, then press that into the hole in the arm?

Check the thread labelled "B body wiper linkage..."
It discusses that very thing...

Put the new bushing on top of the "ball" like part, put the linkage with the hole for the bushing on top with the hole lined up with the new bushing. Take a socket that is just large enough for the bushing to fit into, and put it on top of the linkage with the hole. Now press it all together with large pliers. Once it presses together the bushing will be unharmed as it sank into the socket. It is alot easier if you have a second set of hands, but one person can do it. A friend of mine tac welded a socket to one half of a set of pliers so he has the perfect tool. Hope this makes sense.

Facts are stubborn things.
