How about this one? It's for an air cleaner that takes an oval air filter based on the "Parts filter-Part No. 2946186"

I knew that Galen had given me one of these years ago and I just went and found it. Same as the one in your pic.

So what years is that for? It seems odd that they used the blue and white logo if its supposed to be for 1972. Why not the red/white/blue Mopar logo like on the other decals posted above?

Thats a good question, I never noticed that before.

I wonder if I go find the pics and video of the Red 72 6 pack car at Slobes what it had. although it was a pilot car if I remember so it might be different. Although my Runner has 71 door panels on it so you never know on early cars.

I just found the part number for this decal in 1 of my 72 parts books and is says for 440 3-2 barrel with fresh air. It is not in the later parts books but the later books also do not have 6 pack parts listed for 72 at all so that makes sense. So I guess it will be put on the car when it is restored.

Unless anyone can prove other wise, I guess the decal goes under the six barrel decal and above the lower wingnut.

You can't go wrong with duplicating the pic; at least ONE car looks like it came that way!

Seriously, when I researched this question for my SB, I found survivor pics with the decals in different spots. It makes since that they weren't applied all by the same person at the same time so I imagine some variety should be expected.

I know that I can get overly obsessive. (I just took about five minutes to make sure I spelled the word obsessive correctly. lol) I guess there must not have been a standard. I have seen an original AAR lid with the two decals (air filter maint. decal and freezing weather "plug intake" warning decal) completely off center and cocked a bit. It looked like some guy just slapped them on with a bad hang-over. Probably just real world assembly and not an obsessive restoration. lol

A12 lid with crooked decals.

I could be wrong, but I doubt a shaker car would have had the decal "440-6 barrel/6-pack".

Seems I've even seen 70-71 Hemis with nothing more than the element decals and no "Hemi" decal.
