Need some info or maybe someone post a pic of the vinyl top trim retainer(s)on the qrtr panel, where the chrome trim at the base of the top meets the meets the side rear window.
I have two holes. I think it should have a metal spring clip that has a stud and a nut installs from inside to retain it... was the other a screw hole which holds a basic trim clip? See arrow in attached pic for location of holes
Hardware was absent when I got the car
I have the trim clip kit

The stainless trim along that lower edge of the vinyl top uses all the same type of clips . They have a nut that screws on from underneath.

I only had one hole on the driver's side. The passenger side quarter was relplaced so it had no holes and I had to drill one. I also had to add the studs around the belt line for the nylon clips. I also used the clip kit. Had to take the little ears off the nylon clips or they would stick out from under the trim.

1970 had holes drilled into the roof for the metal clips that used a nut on the bottom. By 73 at least there were only 2 of those metal clips used. The rest were plastic.

I bought a clip kit but the new plastic clips are a lot softer then the original ones. They don't hold the trim tight to the body. I'm going to drill some holes and use the bolt-on clips for the entire thing.

There are also 2 holes each side of center along the back for two more metal clips

On my 73 there were four holes total but only two used the bolt on clips. Two of the four holes used a plastic push in clip. The rest of the retainers were plastic clips that attached to the raised pins.

Thanks I have those, I think I may elect for the bolt on ones though. If I recall those clips may have a hole in the center

Next question. The front windshield molding clips had 2 held on by screw in the upper corners where the factory body work on the pillars was.

I had to reconstruct my rear window channel lower corners I do know there were holes, possibly not due to rust so should there be two trim clip screw holes there?

Here is a shot. Of the upper front wiindow channel holes. They appear to be 1/8 and are about 2 inches down from the upper channel hope this helps Dennis

No worries i checked out the rear channels and found 2 holes per side both about 1/8 in 1 in the lower channel and 1 in the side channel. Let me know if you want dimensions. Dennis

Thanks Dennis pics and dimensions would be great. The screw on clips are different and I will look again but I don't think, they were included.
The screw holes in the front window channel make more sense they are since they are near the pillar/roof seam. Not sure why the rear channel screw holes especially down low where a leak could occur

I will measure and post pictures tonight. I see the need for the lower holes this helps with the alignment of the glass but are the side holes for the same thing? I only see 2 clips in my fastener kit.

So the holes in the bottom are for the glass locators, and the ones in the side should be for clips . I was worried there were factory holes in the corners I repaired, I am missing one rivet so a screw should suffice there
