I've had a lot of stock stroke Mopar RB bracket motors that I shifted at or near 7000 RPM, not all of them pulled hard above 6400 RPM though My current pump gas street motor (518 C.I.) has Indy SR heads with Max Wedge ports with T&D single shaft 1.65 rocker assembly, a Indy 400-3 intake and a Holley 1050 Dominator. This combination pulls really hard to 7000 + RPM I have ran a set of Eddy RPM standard 440 port that where CNC ported by Modern Cylinder heads, I ran a low deck six pak intake and stock type Holley vacume carbs, that combination would pull hard in 1st and 2nd gear to above 7000 RPM also but it did not pull hard above 6200 RPM in high gear It has a set of Harland Sharp 1.6 ratio roller rockers, both top end set ups used the same short block and cam The cam is a Comp Cams solid roller that is 260 at .050 on the intake and 266 on the exhaust with right at .700 net lift at the retainers. I never tried a single plane four barrel intake in the car with those Eddy heads so I would think that a good single plane intake and 850 + CFM carb would pull hard to 7000 + with the right cam grind IHTHs

Mine goes 7200 thru the traps, iron 906 heads with Crane rockers, Mopar 590 cam & springs, Ferrara valves. Best thing to do is get lightweight h-beam rods and pistons. I got mine from Muscle Motors, 260 runs on this combo and no problems.
