Any of you guys have any been there, done that tips or hints replacing a roof skin on a 70 Challenger. Plan on using AMD roof and factory style quarters when they come off back order. Thanks!

You'll know more once you get the old one off but if everything is in good shape, it's simply a matter of carefully drilling all the spot welds, melting out the lead where it meets the quarters and pulling it off.
Probably ought to get it off before you order the skin so you'll know what else you might need. Mine had alot of rust under there and in addition to making multiple patches, I had to order the gutters.
Make sure if you have to replace the gutters you take lots of pics before removing the old ones. As much as it seems pretty straight forward wher everything goes, it becomes a little less clear once it's not there anymore!
The AMD skin fit on mine with very little manipulation and it was smooth as glass. Don't forget to put the anti rattle goop between the skin and center brace. I got it from a local paint supplier and he let me borrow the application tool too!
Look at my car in Member projects for more details.
Good luck!

good god jake! you make my project look like a side job!!

I just saved all the pics you've posted for reference and/or motivation for all the rust I've yet to find on my car!

sorry you had bad luck with the goodmark metal. my Cuda quarter panels (at lest the driver side for now) seems to line up and fit perfect. I can't hang my rear valence yet because there's nothing on the other side, but the door gaps, window channels, trunk gap all seem to fit pretty good.
