Here in NY,it would depend on the GROSS combination weight that the tow vehicle is capable of or how you register the tow vehicle.

I don't want to even though your single wheel truck will pull that 40' trailer if I was pulling through the mountains I personally would want a dually under that puppy!

Personaly I wouldn't tow a trailer that large with any single wheel truck.....a dually offers far better stability and tire failure protection

Me too! I think you would find it more stable. I know from personal experience you can tell the difference even with a 24ft tag.
