Just picked up a real carb, didnt know much about it, the guy had it on a SB Chevy etc. Its a older version of the speed demon I think. Has gold metering blocks. and has the numbers A12400 on the metering blocks. Holley style bowls that have BG cast and also says "Claw".
I have been having carb issue's so it was worth a try.
This thing idles like a dream, has real nice transition.. Very crisp... I quick trip confirmed the carbs, much better performance than the 750 DP Holley that was on it.
Anyways. I didnt bother measuring or doing much inspection, just bolted it on and other than setting curb idle.. very nice carb!

I have a "750" silver claw. Runs way b#chin! Idles real nice. Extremely responsive. My metering block says 12320

Right now it's just got a off idle light tip in stumble. Smash it, no issue.

What's the difference between a silver and gold claw?

Not sure what the difference is.

I also have a 750 silver claw that I used before going to alcohol and loved it.

Yeah, I have a Gold Claw. It's the precursor to the Race Demon RS w/ the color-coded removable venturi sleeves.

The Silver Claw pictured above doesn't have the removable sleeves, which makes it comparable to the standard Race Demon.

The Sports Claw was the low-end version comparable to the Speed Demon and has a choke tower.
