Sounds like you need to raise the front end up a little or run a taller front tire or... Get a shallower oil pan...
Its a self shallowing pan if he does that any more put a taller tire on unless you have good reaction times now... if so either raise the body up or a shorter pan.... you could add a skid plate to the K member to protect it

how about making it so you don't have to get out of the throttle after launching?
for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

Y don't take the junk shocks off and put on a set you can adjust to a stiff setting so the shock controls the front end.

I have a 69 Dart w/Indy 540 and a Milidon oil pan. I didnt launch straight and when I got out of the gas oil pan bottomed out on the track. Front wheels normally go up maybe a foot. I can turn it down but I am wondering if this is normal for an A body (I have v8 bars in it) or if I have front set wrong?
When you say they normally lift a foot.... how high did they lift when you bent the pan

It went a little higher than normal, just not straight. Landed harder because of getting off the throttle. A couple good ideas given here. In order for me to take up the front any more I will have to raise the rear(not a big deal). I will lower the front and check the stops if I can do anything there. I am geting my converter adjusted and assuming that flashes where I want, I can then set the ladder bars for less air on launch. I see a lot of pics of wheels up launches and was curious if they ran into this. I will check my shocks as well.
What do you have for front shocks... they sounds like they are wasted if it can fall that easy... but I would raise the front some

A good pair of shocks will control the front from coming down to hard, ask me how I know, 3 pans in 3 weeks,. Put on some good 90/10's and you'll be OK
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
