Found a box with 7 brand new MP Hemi rods that came out of a 472 crate motor. Looks like they are a good piece, but the number stamped on them is 2468002. Thinking about just ordering one replacement to make a full set. I'm assuming that is a casting number, because the part number that MoPar has listed don't seem to match. Is that right? I know the motor they came from. Is the casting number different than the PN?

Yep....No one would dare to make the casting number the same as the part number. That would be too easy, and anyone would be able to figure it out. We can't have that. It just wouldn't be right. Should be PN P5249898. MP stopped using them in crate engines around 2007/2008, and went to H beams in everything since then. Hope that helps

I sort of figured. Using the stamping number as the part number is just a little too logical. Thanks, Zippy. They do look like a good, quality piece.
