I was working on the floor pan yesterday and did
pretty good BUT today I had eye surgery so I will
be down for a few days(they said 5 to 7 days) ...
I was really hopeing to get the tunnel done in the
next few days BUT that doesnt look like thats gonna
happen.... this damn eye sure is HURTING.... bring
on the drugs(wife went to get them).... I'm falling
farther behind from my time line (self imposed)... bummer...
Plus I just got a call from my crank guy saying that my
crank is done.... he's gonna drop it off by the house
today(thanks Ed)

Damn Mike, if you were going to live this long why the he!! did you take such crappy care of yourself

All kidding aside, I am the biggest sissy when it comes to medical issues and surgery. With all of the stuff you've been thru I would have jumped off a cliff by now . Hope you recover fast and knowing you you'll be out there back at it in no time.

LOL... I'm a sissy also.... but a little surgery here
and there SURE BEATS the alternative... I sure dont
want to be pushing up daisy's.......... yet.... it
was funny when the doc was asking question this morning...
he knew about my heart attacks and my stroke then
some how asked if I was ex-military... I said yes
and that I was in Nam and I said that I was hit 3
times, side, shoulder and the head...... he said, I
think you've used up all of my 9 lives... I said maybe
so BUT I would like to think I have a few more to go...
HOPEFULLY

I know the feeling man.
I hate it when I am waiting on parts, or at a point where I can currently do no more. I always feel like I'm wasting time even though there's nothing I can do.

Then again, sometimes it's good to step away.

Thanks guys.... just got my crank shaft back a few
minutes ago... thanks Ed for dropping it off.... so
pretty soon I'll be able to start the engine build...
I mocked it up already so it shouldnt take too long
to get it together but I still need to get the push rods
and make a oil pan and make the headers

I'll take a few pics when I get the dash and tunnel
in it... the dash is all fitted and 95% ready but I
still need to fab the tunnel on the floor... the seats
are all mounted... but I'll pull them back out to
lay the carpet(after the tunnel is done)... the 5%
on the dash is I need to fab a bracket to mount the
radio below the dash... the knee bar goes through the
area behind where the radio use to mount so the radio
area will have gauges mounted in that opening

The doc wimped on the drugs... he only gave me the
5-500 vicodins instead of the 7s... oh well... help
out your brother... you know where I'm at ALL THE TIME
so when you get the chance swing on by... my brother
stopped by yesterday and asked if I can swing by his
place and paint his new little hot rod... so I might
be doing that next week if all things go good... I
need to see if his body work is ready for paint ....
he says it is, so we'll see

Take good care of them eyes. I know about pain as I take more pain meds then I want to because of my back and knee problems. But you definetly need them eyes working to get things done. Ron

Better there than in your stomach , kidneys or bladder.
Drive through any trailer park and listen for the sound............ " Honey , grab me a Stone , Dude "
Nuff said about that.
Warsteiner is another matter entirely.
I got a free truck load of it once.......some ten years after I quit drinking.
But I had more friends than you could shake a stick at for about a month.........at work and at the mission.
It's funny Mike..........I was just lamenting the aging process on another forum I frequent , and now I feel like a sissy after reading your words.
But like you said , it sure beats the alternative.
Looking forward to seeing you finish the hotrod , and thank for for all the help you have generously given out here..........not to mention the service you have given for our freedom to pursue quicker time slips and such.
In the deck I call life , you are definitely an ace.

BTW...the Keystone Light is STILL on ice!!!

The bad part about that Keystone is..... I bought it...
I had never heard of it.... normally at home I drink
Molson Ice so when I couldnt find that I just figured
that Ice would be ok.......... NOT... now Randy keeps
threatening me with that last one.....
thanks for the kind words

Take your time getting better Mike, you are retired you know so no need to rush the important things like recovery!! He is like a timex watch though "takes a licking and keeps on ticking"

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.

I cant hardly see out of my left eye.... they put a
gas bubble in it to force the wall back into place
but I didnt realize its a total blur ... they said
the bubble will go away in a week or so as the gell
fills in... I dont want to use any power tools right
now... or drive

Mr P Body,

You seem to be in and out of the medical issues. You keep pulling thru and keep helping and inspiring others. Love reading your posts. You are in inspiration.
