I was checking the accuracy and doing some measuring since I have the dipstick access hole in the floor of the car now. I have the locking Lokar style short diptick (like a dragster). On a 'glide I understand that the level when running should be at the bottom of the dipstick hole (roof o the case). If this is the case, the dipstick is a full inch to long to the full mark. Can anyone confirm the right fluid level when running in neutral? I have heard of inconsistancies with their dipsticks. This could be detrimental to a transmission since I believe an inch off is about 2 quarts difference.

just ziptie ur stick to the tube. make sure the handle is even with the top of the tube. mark the stick at bottom of the hole on the case. that will be the hot run mark. check oil level in park or neutral, either one will work. stay safe, seeya.

So you are saying that the bottom of the hole in the case is the hot running level?

I thought that was true with a 727(top of the case)
but I cant say about a glide... I also thought you
could check a glide in park....

Yeah Mike, I was told by a reputable 'glide builder that the correct level while running (in both neutral and park) is the bottom of the dipstick hole.
