Ok, since I had the dash out of my 70 challenger I decide to buy a rebuilt heater/AC box from a sponsor here. Well I get the box and it looks good. Go to put it in all goes well. Then I notice the vacuum line plug that goes into the heater control panel looks short.I know I should of checked this before installing but I figured they knew what they're doing. Well it ends up being 7 inch shorter than the factory box. Not 1 or 2 but 7 inches. Does anyone take pride in their work anymore . I'm sorry for the vent. But for the money I paid, this is not good. I planned on a steering column rebuild from this place. But I can't seem to get myself to give them anymore money.

I'm a little lost are you saying a line they gave with the box is short judging by your other post.

Have you tried to CALL THEM to send you the correct length line ?

The hoses had an extension from the factory.... It plugs in at the switch end, there is a nylon connector which all seven hoses connect to the the extension harness has the rubber block molded to both ends... They slide together & a metal clip slides over locking the harnesses together... then the extension plugs into the switch & the metal clip with two fingers locks the connector to the switch...

I would post a picture but I gave my spare away...

Hmmm my factory box didn't have an extension. I just pulled it back out of the box and checked to measure the lines. The vacuum lines were just longer. Maybe thats the issue. Some had this extension and some didn't. Oh well I guess I'll just add 7 inches in before the heater panel. Still makes me mad though. And no I didn't try to call them today. As I'm sure they are closed. I'll give them a call in the morning. That's the reason I didn't call them out in this post.

Couldn't hurt to call them & see if they have an extension floating around, you have spent a chunk of $$ with them & the new part doesn't fit without the extension & when you see how nice & clean it works you won't want to add hose to yours..

It's not like there are 20 board sponsors offering this service.

Is the one on your old box bad ?? If not then just reuse it ???

Gave them a call and he is going to send out the right vacuum lines this time. So they did good to fix the problem. Now I have to go rip it back out so I can put the longer lines on. I didn't want to reuse my lines as they were not in very good shape at all. Thats why I boght a rebuilt unit.
