Well with all the hot weather, being broke and last weekend throwing my back out hualing scrap metal. For the frist time this year i get to take my car to the track.after blowing up my 8-3/4 last year i have not been back. i did change a few things so i dont know how much if any it will help or hurt my et. well i went from 4.10 gears to 4.30 gears.locked my timing out at 36 degrees instead of 24 at idle with 10 degrees mechanical at 3000 rpm and some new 275/60/15 m/t drag radiels slicks.my best time last year was a 10.68 at 125 on pump gas.but that was at the end of november. so dont know how the car will run in the heat? hope to just have fun and drive the car on the trailer this time.lol so who wants to bet how long the 8-3/4 will last this time.lol sorry for the long post just real happy to get out and race again.thanks Mopar65

Good luck and have fun. If I`m chasing a new/better et, I try to duplicate weather conditions the best I can to see if my changes made any difference but either way it`s been a while so good luck.

Sorry juys just got up did not get ho,e untill after 4 am. Well had fun last nite but broke the car again. well at least the 8-3/4 i put togeather held up. on my last 1/4 pass i snaped my tail shaft in half. I guess i am very lucky i did not crash because when i got back there was trans oil all under the underside of my car all the way to the back bummper.the weard thing is the car drove straight and pulled like a train on topend. i mean there was no vibration etc.I did not even know i broke something untillm i got back to my pit area and the girlfiend came up as i was parking and asked me wear all the smoke was coming from.well would like to say it was nice to finally meet JOEDUST and his daughter. well when i frist got there we were only running 1/8 mph and my best pass was a 7.09 @ 97.59 and a 1.59 60FT. i let joe drive my car which he was not used to the breaks or the car yet. but he ran a couple of 99 mph passes.my best 1/4 mile pass was a 1.61 60ft 7.12 1/8@97.76 mph and a 11.04 1/4 mile. they were not giving 1/4 mph readings for some reasion.also the 11.04 1/4 mile pass was wehn i broke the transmission.all in all i had fun last nite. but kind of disopinted that my car was not running in the 10 like i thought it should.so i dont know if teh engine is getting tired or if it was just from the crappy weather.it was in the upper 80 to the low 90 with i guess around 60-80 percent hummidty.now i have to decide how i want to fix my transmission? i mean put another tail shaft on it or build another trans.sorry this is solong and i am still half asleep.sorry guys wish i had better knews to give you.thanks Mopar65

I kind of had to force my self to go last nite. i mean the weather sucked and i did not have a lot of money.but i am glad i did. i was tired of seeing my car just sit there all summer and not being able to drive it.on my trans i wonder if i bent the tail shaft when the 8-3/4 let go last year? i mean i wonder if i cracked the tail shaft last year and could not see it. but this is the frist time i have done something like that. so who knows? thanks bobby

Had a great time last night Bobby, It was very nice finally meeting you, Just can't beleive it rained all around us & we got lucky , It really sucks i red lit that last pass , don't understand what happen to the timers, I'm guessing it had something to do with me deep staging & turning the top bulb off on a Pro tree , After i deep staged i'm guessing it red lighted me after a few seconds. I still think it may have mis-printed that 7.85 & was most likely a 7.05 @ 99, I'm sure if i got in a good run with my boney ass from your 11.04 & would have hit 10.9s

I'm glad i aborted to making that last pass, I would have felt really bad had that tailshaft let loose on me, I'm sure it'll be an easy fix though. I'd call John at Cope Racing & see what he thinks.

Bobby is one of the coolest people i've met in a while, Who do you know that would let a total stranger (other then just chatting on Moparts) let you make as many passes as you wanted in there 10 sec. car, If you decide to come down to the shootout in Sept. that would be cool, as a spectator of coarse, i'll pack up a cooler full of goodies

Tell Lisa i said hi.
