That all depends on how good the cast Item is. If it is real close to your combo in runner size, plenum, etc, you won't see a lot of difference. The old tunnelrams for mopar BBs were small runner, and responded to porting. If you are building an indy head motor, or B1 deal, the cast Indys work pretty good, same for the B1. There is always room for improvement, just a matter of budget and where you want to spend money. A custom manifold is way down my list of what to do next, as the 3x single four I run is pretty good as is. Put a 2100 cfm terminater on it, and there shouldn't be much improvement. I have ported 440-1 heads, 528 cubes.

with fuel injection the intake is just for air, the intake is alot more important with a carb, air speed, fuel suspension and such. in my opinion.

I had my Indy Tunnel-Ram ported to make sure the runners were all equal. I'm running Terminators on mine. A better question might be is the sheet metal intake worth the extra $$$.

Good point. I would think though that a well built sheetmetal TR would gain some from two sources over what I have. One would be a slight improvement in air density due to about half the vacuum, which would be a small amount going from one to two Terminaters. The other would be a small gain from better cylinder fill from a custom designed runner.

any time you can gain in cylinder fill it will help.
the op did not say if he was injected or carbed . like was said depends on how good the cast unit is will decide how much better a fab will be.
a custom intake properly design can cut back on the reversion and the reverse pulses of the intake closing, which might help a carb setup more than injection, but would help inj. also
