I know you guys probably have more experience with this sort of thing.

What is a good company for replacement windshields for our old trucks?

It is the curved windshield for 1957 Dodge D100 truck.

I know where some donor trucks may be, but I hate to buy a whole truck for just the windshield.

I am looking for replacement glass with the rubber seal to hold it in place.

Any ideas?

thanks

Eight

I think you will find that windshield fits from late 55 through 1960, I believe. Check out auto glass makers. If you have a good local auto glass guy, he should be able to locate a source, or you can probably find one looking on line. Just be sure you know what the model # your truck is. If you know someone that has a Hollander interchange book, you can get the windshield glass # and what they fit. The more they fit, the better chance of finding a new one or more of a chance finding a good used one. Google "antique auto glass" & see what turns up. Gene

That windshield was used more than you think. If i am not mistaken, it was used up into the 70's in the Dodge semi trucks.I believe it was first used in 56. Randy

I did see that windshield on ebay before I posted. I am not sure if I like the green windshield though.... so I was wondering if there was something else out there.

I guess dodge enthusiasts are kind of limited, so I guess I can't really be a chooser...

Thanks for the input guys. Any more input would be appreciated.

I let you know what I go for...

The listing mentions clear, green, or shaded. So one would assume the windows come all 3 ways. Only way to find out is to contact the folks. I just bought 1957 Chrysler windshields from them, and had them sent to Canada. They were knowledgeable, and just great people to deal with. Seemed first class all the way.

And, as posted above, these windows fit the Heavy Duty truck cabs that were manufactured from 1961 to 1975 in North America, and maybe longer in Mexico.

Yes the LCF's were built into the 70's. Your truck is 54 years old, you can get a new part for it at a reasonable price.......

Not hard to imagine at all. They just kept making the same cab for various uses as the tooling was already paid for. Or maybe they were using up a huge surplus of body parts! Big trucks don't sell much based on looks, and what you notice are the fenders, grille and hood.
