I want to go with 15" Magnum 500's which only seem to come in an 8 or 10" rim.

They also dont seem to make 285 tires anymore.

I dont know if a 10" rim will fit with a 295 tire on my car but AZ Nick on the boards here has a 295 on an 8" rim. Its a little balloony imo but more than a few people say they look and ride fine. If I knew the 10" rim would fit I'd buy it.

A 285 50 15 on a 9" rim would be ideal imo but there's no such thing.

The other choice is a 275 60 15 but its 28" tall unless I go to a 50 series at just under 26"

This body style has enormous wide fenders and I'd like to fill them up with tire, but not at the expense of looking silly or safety. The car is just going to be basically driven in straight line with 3.55's.

What would you do or have you done?

Thanks.

This picture is with 275 60 15's x8 I'm redoing the car and have 305 45 18s X10 to put on, I norrowed the rear by 1.5" on both sides and moved my springs 3" in both sides.

The 275 60's will fir the 71's easy.

295...50? Yes it can be done, watch your back space. 5.5 I'd say, but I'm sure if you watch this thread for awile EVERYONE has an opinion. Drop 295 50 in the search engine, or any tire size and you'll get dozens of threads on this subject. There will be photos as well.

Keep in mind that no B Body has the well space that the 71-72 has. There is tons of room, more then the E's and a whole lot more then the 68-70.

Had 15x8s on the car for AGES before switching out.
They were 3-3/4 BS. Loads of room on the backside. Cleared the fenders on the outside fine.

New rears are 18x9.5" www.vintagewheelworks.com V45s. 5.5" standard BS with 275/45-18 Michelins. Enough room on the backside, maybe 3/4" or so. Enough room on the frontside to go to 18x10" on my car with same 5.5" BS. BUT, my rear fender lips are rolled up in the inside. Without the roll, they'd still fit, but on a wider wheel, it might be dicey. Springs are in factory location.

I wanted something just slightly taller, tire-wise, but the tires I wanted weren't available in 285/45 or 295/45-18. The 275s fit perfect on the rims, but they are just barely wider than the rims, so I'll have to be careful of curbs.

Fronts are 17x8, with 245/45-17s. 4.5" standard BS. Fit fine. IF I had to do over, I'd have gone with 4" BS to make the frontside look slightly more deep dish/old school, and to match better the dish depth appearance of the rears.

If I get a chance this weekend between work and kids, I'll try to post a pic.
