Would be nice if it worked for you. We used a version of waterglass on the farm years ago to prep eggs, and a gentleman that was an engineer for GM transmissions told me about them using it to seal their cases and other parts. Another version of it is what is poured down into the engines for the gov't car buyout deal.

To be honest with you, I think it would solve your porosity problems, but I don't know the lifespan of it, as if would it breakdown after 5, 10, 20 years and start seeping. I see a lot of (automatic) transmissions that suddenly have issues that changing valve bodies, solenoids, etc. don't fix, so another core is prepped and used. I wonder if it is a case of the sealant breaking down resulting in an internal leak between oil passages. While that failure would be an easy to check situation for a manual trans case - a few block off plates and a dip tank - it is a hard diagnosis for an automatic with all its passages. Food for thought.
