I put about 3K miles a year on it, so nothing exorbitant, but it's also not a "conversation piece". It's about a 50 mile run out to Good Guys in Fort Worth, all highway at 70 MPH. I like the high gears and shifting 1-4, and the point of the 5th gear is for the highway, so why should I bother changing to a lower rear end if I'm looking at putting a 5 speed in.




See above. MANY reasons for running a trans like this. One is that you can run a really low gear and not buzz the engine. That shouldn't be hard to grasp, yet here you are.

Nobody is saying that you have to change gears BTW. In fact, I would keep my 3.23s as is.
