while saving fuel is a noble effort, it is not what we are in disagreement on. its the initial premium for the od which includes the cost of the part(s) as well as installation.
if you were really that worried about gas you would not be driving a 30 year old car with a v8 and a carb!
if you want me to agree that buying an o/d has benefits - yes i agree
if you want me to take you seriously and to think that driving a 30 year old car with an O/D is really the solution to our dependency on foreign oil than i am sorry i cannot do that.
i guess i dont drive my cars enough for it to matter.
