Sorry, off the radar for a few days...I'm not on too much anymore, personal reasons.
I was indeed #48, and I completed my down payment earlier this year,
paid in full a couple of weeks ago.There were some slider issues that I had to wait to get resolved, and I was OK with that.All reports I have heard say this is the one you want.
I am no engineer, but the BEST 18 spline boxes I have had (many many 4 speed 440 cars)all rattled even with new bearings, and are a bit noisy at highway speed.They shift pretty good, but still clash if I yank 'em too fast.
The rollerized/tapered timken bearing stuff in the 855,the aluminum cases, the o-ring seals, the revised shifter arrangement all sound VERY promising.
