I am about to start work on my Mom's 68 road runner that has been in my family since new. My Dad bought it new in July 1968 for my mother.
Two weeks later we drove it to Sebago Lake Maine from Louisville Ky, with Mom & Dad , two of my sisters, plus myself and Dad's 16ft MFG runabout in tow.
It has survived my teenage years, as well as two of my sisters, driving it with only minor damage.
It still has the original engine and trans, but had a number of rear ends, including 2 repairs at the dealer while under warranty!
I overhauled the 383 in 1985, and it still runs great now. I have built a 470" engine to replace it for a while so I can go thru the 383 again.
The trunk and quarters need to be replaced and I will start on that this winter. The parts are here now.
The color on the car is not original, I painted it in 1981 and changed it from the FF1 Frost Green. I am now going back to the orig, color.
The repaint was in lacquer and has long since died.
