I was waiting for someone to say something about it!
Before I began building the other 3 primary pipes, I mounted an oil filter in that spot, to mimic the heater blower motor, which sticks out from that hole in the firewall. Mounting the filter there was a visual reminder to keep the pipes clear of it.
