The inputs on the 231 are easy enough to swap, and 231s are very easy to find.
OK, but do they have to be from a 4x4 truck? What about using a smallblock 727 from 4x4 Dodge? I thought it was a good idea to use one of those, since they are much shorter than a standard passenger car automatic.
