Went to Test n Tune today and got a new best on first pass,7.16 @ 97.Then went 7.02 @ 98, 6.95 @ 99, 6.93 @ 99. I was getting a little greedy and shifted it at 6800 on the fifth pass a rod bolt or rod broke and put a whole in the oil pan. It was a old short block I had and I put some 360-2 heads and a Bullet roller cam in it. It was a .030 over 360 with a stock cast crank and rods. I have been looking at the stroker short blocks on Indy's web sight.Has anybody ever bought one and had any luck with it? Was thinking about getting a 422 or 440.The good thing about the longer stroke would be the lower RPMs and maybe longer life. THANKS......

nice new bests, sorry about the rod ,,,if it's not too far for you I would call Dan at Performance Only and have him build you a short block, I think you would be a lot happier in the end with the performance and customer service.

Sorry to see the new best come along with destruction.. If you buy Indy stuff..buy from a dealer..Not Indy direct. Nothing but a-holes that answer the phone there..

Ouch that is a bitter sweet day 4 sure. I`ve been thru almost the exact thing myself. Years ago ran a 10.08 1st day out with a cam change looking for my 1st "9". Next time out the crank was in peices Took 3yrs. to eclipse that 10.08 and go 9.97. Good luck with whatever you choose to build

I was wondering since I was oiling the top half through the push rods and through the block that I run the bottom half dry.Do you think that might have caused the problem.

You definitely have the right guy doing the heads, but what was the decision for the short block?
