Well, I've been at it pretty hard since September, but tonight I turned the key, dropped it in gear and pulled out onto the road. Man, all the time & $$ seems worth it now. This thing is a beast. I gotta get a deeper gear & Sure Grip, it literally blows the right tire off like the car is on ice...yeah, baby! Still have some details and adjustments to dial in, but wow. It's a completely different car!
Man, I am diggin' this the most. Never had a hot rod like this.I will post some build pics and story details next week.

that's great! I'm waiting to see your build pics and details. I just got my 56 Belvedere dual quad 383/727/8-3/4 sure grip swap to fire up yesterday! I still need to do the brakes and dial it in. Will post pics soon as well as I forgot my camera when I was out in the shop.

Way to go Mike..get the posi in and some gears and you will have a car you will keep forever.I've been driving mine all over...but I'm not taking it to NJ with me this year ..I said before ..you now when you are driving your rod too much when you start to hear the squeaks and rattles over the Flowmasters...time to give it some TLC...you gotta get some pictures up...Congrats Larry

Thanks. I want it to look like it was born under the hood, so no chrome or bling, '56 Dodge V8's were silver so that is what I went with. I've had a few setbacks, going to post the build thread once everything is resolved.

Still chasing a high-rpm noise, sort of a rattle that does not seem to be coming from the engine. Want to get this sorted out before I flog it. Hope to have it at the Mopower event May 18-20...we'll see

Did you check the conveter bolt heads? And, if you can't make it to the Mopower Events race with your car, bring it to "The Spring Nostalgia Nationals" on June 23-24. I can get you in free at that event. I know someone in the tower. hahahaha
