I am just wondering? What difference does it make, As to those that order coupe panels? Maybe every convert needs side panels? And besides,we're talking 2 dollars of plastic. And 2 dollars an hour labor. As opposed to $600 vert panels. REALLY? Please explain. Thanks

How well does the color & texture of the new rear panels match the door panels which were manufactured much earlier? Do you have any close-up pics with the panels side-by-side? I am interested in a full set of white `Cuda panels...

I bought a set of fronts from at the nats this year. I just opened the box on my new rear just a few minutes ago. My heart is still a little faint so I think I may wait until the morning to look at them side by side under florescent inside and outside daytime. I'll let you know tomorrow. My AAR has needed new white door panels since about 1980.

DITTO! I bought my door panels @ the Nats also. Took my new rears out of the box last nite. First thing I did was lay them out next to the door panels. I think they look great. Grain, color and lines seem to match nicely. Will be installing this weekend. These panels are truly as close to original as you can get.

Well I just looked at the panels up close together under florescent lighting and they look pretty close to me. If you look at them long enough, you may be able to see some slight difference, but you are looking at several angles and that causes some variance. To be real honest, under inside florescent light, the color seems to be slightly more yellow or cream colored than my originals. I am looking at where the seat kept the sun off the panels or on the back side of the panel. Of coarse where the sun has been shining is a different matter. My originals are very yellow and they were bad in 76 when I bought the car. So I am not complaining at all. I will look at them outside tomorrow and let you know about that. I am sure they fit fine. I have been told to be very careful when taking them off the door as they tend to pull the metal support piece that holds the panel in at the bottom. Overall I am pleased.

Well, I have looked at them outside and they look a little better. I would have to say that the colors are pretty much the same match as front to rear, even though I bought the fronts at the nats and the rears just came off the boat. I am going out on a limb and would have to say that these new repops are slightly more of a creme white than a true off white like the originals I have, when you compare to the places where the sun did not affect the colors on my originals. When you put in the armrest pad from BEA, it looks more white than the panels. Knowing how anal mike is about his products, I would have to say that his pads are closer to the correct color. Still I am happy with the panels. I have heard no complaints about the fitment. Maybe they can tweak the color on the next batch of fronts and rears together. I will defiantly buy the seat backs from BEA. I bet they will be closer to the correct color when placed up next to the new seat covers. Well there is my humble opinion.

Thanks Mark! The repros seem to meet all my requirements, even the possibility of the color being a bit off is not critical to me. Ol' Yeller's long wait is finally over!

I installed my complete set of Metro panels yesterday. I was replacing my Dashtop repro panels that I had previously installed in my 'Cuda. The quality of the new panels were impressive. The fronts and rears fit perfectly. I literally had no issues whatsoever installing the new panels. Every hole matched pefectly. The new door panels really impressed me after all the fitting and trimming I had to do to get the Dashtop door panels to work. The Metros fit perfectly. All of the screw holes and lower spring clip holes matched pefectly. The door handle and window crank holes centered nicely, these were big time problem areas with my old panels. The new door panels also have the proper standoffs around the window crank exit which eliminates the gap problem I had with the old ones behind the crank. And lastly the holes are marked on the backside of the panels to drill for the 'Cuda emblems and the driver mirror adjuster, no laying out holes to drill. I could not be happier with the quality , fit and appearance of these panels. Thanks again Metro!
